Frequently asked questions.
Do you take my insurance?
We are an out-of-network, fee-for-service clinic. This model allows us to spend a full 60 minutes of uninterrupted, one-on-one time with you, without insurance companies dictating your care or rushing your recovery.
However, we make the insurance process entirely frictionless. Unlike many out-of-network practices that force you to pay the full amount upfront and wait for a reimbursement check in the mail, we handle the heavy lifting for you. Our dedicated billing team will verify your out-of-network benefits before your first session and submit the claims so your insurance pays us directly. This means you are only responsible for your specific out-of-pocket remainder at the time of your visit.
What are your rates?
Our clinic rate is a flat $250 for every 60-Minute 1-on-1 Physio Session. However, your actual out-of-pocket cost will depend on your out-of-network insurance benefits. As a courtesy to our athletes, we partner with a dedicated billing team that will verify your coverage before your first visit. If your plan covers out-of-network physical therapy, we will submit the claims so the insurance company pays us directly. This means you are only responsible for your specific co-pay or co-insurance at the time of your appointment.
If you do not have out-of-network benefits, the full $250 flat rate is due at the time of service.
Thats cool but I don’t have any out of network benefits … should I go somewhere else?
No way! Here is the reality of the traditional, in-network physical therapy model: because insurance reimbursement rates are so low, clinics are forced to see you two to three times a week for months just to make a profit. Even with insurance, you are often paying a $40 to $80 copay for every single visit, while spending hours of your week doing generic exercises in a crowded room.
At Elevate Physio NYC, we respect your time and your athletic goals. Because every session is a full 60 minutes of uninterrupted, 1-on-1 advanced care, our patients typically only need to be seen once a week or once every other week.
When you factor in the copays of a high-volume clinic, the hours spent commuting, and the weeks of missed training due to slower recovery times, our out-of-pocket model is actually a highly efficient investment in getting you back to peak performance faster. We solve the problem, rather than just managing the symptoms.
Do I need a prescription before I come to see you?
Nope! Here in New York, Physical Therapy is covered under “Direct Access” which means you can be seen by a physical therapist for a musculoskeletal injury before seeing a medical doctor. If you do need to see a doctor after your initial visit or beyond, we will refer you to a trusted sports medicine physician in our network.
I am not a professional athlete. Can I still book a session?
Absolutely. You do not need to be an elite competitor to deserve elite care. Our practice is built for dedicated individuals. Whether you are a competitive marathoner, a recreational powerlifter, or someone who simply refuses to let nagging pain ruin your weekend runs, if you are committed to putting in the work, you are exactly the type of patient we love working with.
